A meticulously restored former printworks combining architectural prowess with state-of-the-art amenities. Set against the wilderness of the Peak District, this luxury home features an indoor heated swimming pool, cinema room and modern designer kitchen. Ten beautiful ensuite bedrooms and a lavish dormitory sleep up to 30 guests, making it perfect for large gatherings. Outside, a wood-fired hot tub, orchard, custom fire pit, and reclaimed stone dining table ensure the gardens are as much the stage for grand adventure as the house itself.

Living, Cooking, Dining.

Throughout its striking architecture, ARC Peaks blends modern art and design with high-tech integrations and deeply comfortable furnishings. Two sitting rooms offer a choice between a blackout cinema experience and unplugged confabulation by the 70s-style floating fireplace. For more active leisure, the heated indoor swimming pool and pristine yoga studio offer dedicated space for play, exercise and rejuvenation.

At the heart of the home, the contemporary kitchen in stainless steel is so beautifully designed you’ll want to launch a cooking show there. Guests will love the range of Miele appliances, including four ovens, six hob burners, three fridges (plus a wine fridge) and two dishwashers. A long kitchen island, breakfast table and dedicated refreshment bar make for the perfect social space. For more substantial meals, the vast wave-edge banquet table runs the length of the dining hall and is flanked by floor-to-ceiling windows which loverlook the courtyard and garden.

Sleeping Quarters.

Eleven beautifully appointed bedrooms are designed for comfort, convenience and quiet.

Ten super king bedrooms. Each bedroom features a sumptuous super-king bed with bespoke headboard, blackout blinds and high quality linens. Private en-suites in every room ensure guests can unwind from a day’s adventure in the luxury of their own walk-in rainfall shower. Situated adjacent to the lift, there is one super king bedroom with no-step-access and a fully accessible bathroom.

Attic dormitory. The top floor of the house features a charmingly renovated dormitory with ten single beds, each nestled in a private curtained alcove, providing a cozy and communal sleeping arrangement ideal for groups or families. There are two family bathrooms on the top floor, offering ample facilities for the dormitory room.

The Garden.

Bordered on three sides by the waters of the River Dane, the garden achieves a flawless outdoor living experience. Foraging pheasants stalk through landscaped terraces, pine groves, and a flowering orchard, curiously accented by works of contemporary sculpture. Play croquet on the lawn beneath the restored clocktower or get continental with a spot of pétanque. On a secluded terrace, the vast woodfired hot tub combines all the convenience of a hot water tap with the rustic appeal of a logburner and chimney. Chefs will love the premium pizza oven and BBQ, perfectly positioned beside the spectacular reclaimed stone table to create an alfresco dining eutopia. And for an evening under the stars, a South African style Braai and firepit invite shared stories and toasted treats.

Locally.

Arc Peaks sits in the village of Wildboarclough among some of the UK’s most idyllic countryside. By foot, guests will discover riverside walks where wild trout leap from the water, a classic English country pub with real ales, and sweeping views across rolling hills of the Peak District. With its steep valleys, dense forests, and clean water, the Peaks is perfect for outdoor activities, from mountain biking to horseback riding and hiking to wild-swimming. Other noteworthy attractions include Macclesfield Forest perfect for nature lovers; Tegg’s Nose County Park for walking trails and rock-climbing; Lyme Park for its stately home and deer park; and, Buxton Opera House for a variety of theatre performances. There is a golf course a short drive away.

Sustainably.

The renovation and operation of ARC Peaks feature a range of sustainability practices. These include the installation of a carbon negative biomass boiler to heat the building and the reclamation of materials for use in the space. One such example is the vast and beautiful alfresco dining table created from stone excavated on-site during the renovation.

Historically.

Originally an industrial printworks and later a Post Office, this edifice has been a feature of the local landscape for approximately 200 years. In its recent renovation, extensions were made to the original footprint and heritage features were carefully restored, including the handsome clock which sits atop its historic facade. The Japanese process of Yakisugi was employed to reinforce the structure. This process involves charring the wooden skeleton of the building until black, and is believed to be the first case of Yakisugi's structural use in Europe.
